What is an e-inspection?

 

An e-inspection is an electronic review by MMS of required MMS Regulatory data. These inspections are in lieu of MMS physically visiting a platform and retrieving records or files.

 

Since an e-inspection is a web-based process it reduces the amount of time an MMS inspector needs to spend on site for an inspection.

 

SEMPCheck Services has conducted nearly  500 e-inspections since February 2002. All MMS Districts have participated in this process with great success.

 

Once data is reviewed by the MMS, it is followed up by a visit to the platform.  Any unresolved issues would be resolved at the time of the physical visitation.
